Summer News Letter - New Services
Posted by tamara under: Woof Street Journal.
I hope you are all having a great summer! Things have been busy at the farm. We are almost done with our expansion & small dog area. We have also added a few services and would like to remind you of services we already have that you might not know about.
Please have a look below and if you have any questions just give me a call.

NEW- Dog Grooming! - Many groomers won’t take large dogs. So we decided to setup for grooming out at the farm. You can drop off & pick up or let us know your interest in pick-up & we’ll combine the trip with a few other customers. Now is the time to get that complete shave for the hot August heat & still enough time to grow out for winter.
- Bath, ears and nails - $25.00
- Bath, ears, nails, trim - small dogs $30.00 large (over 40 pounds) $40.00
- Full shave - small dogs 40.00 large (over 40) $75.00 (extremely long hair & very large may be higher)
Day Care- Camp & Play
Some of our customers have asked about day care so that their babies can get exercise and socialize with others. We’ve always had Day Care at $15.00 a day (includes walk, play all day) but we now offer it from 7am to 7pm. Some people have a hard time making it out here to drop off during work, therefore we are considering pick-up and drop off (Dog Bus) 2-3 days a week! This bus will include pick-up and drop off for grooming customers too. Add daycare to your grooming package for for only $10.00 more!
Very important!! Your dog MUST play nice with others.
Mid-Day Dog Walking - For now this is only available Tuesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 2-4PM. We will come by and take your baby for a 30 min walk & play. As our dog sitting grows we’ll extend the days. Unfortunately gas prices are so high & we’re out in the county. If you’ll work with us we’ll make sure we include you in our trips.

Double Dog Dating - Alaska, Molly Brown, Casper & Bullet
Posted by tamara under: Doggie Profiles.
Last night around 7PM I went to go do my rounds checking on everyone. I was very quiet so I wouldn’t disturb everyone and get them barking. In the yard was Alaska, Molly Brown, Casper and Bullet all laying in a circle facing one another and very close like they were hanging having a conversation. I ran to go get my video camera but by the time I got back they were up and barking. Sometimes its hard to get the best moments, however I wanted to at least get a video of the four of them. Molly Brown and Bullet definitely have a connection. It was love at first site!

Petsmart - My Personal Thoughts & Wellness Dog Food
Posted by tamara under: Woof Street Journal.
I have nothing against commercialism to a point and everyone is entitled to be successful in their business. Still I feel that we lose that small town charm when we go overboard. We often forget that their were hardworking businesses that helped build Danville in the first place. Maybe its my romantic ways that drive me to want to support the local community so that we all can flourish.
My issue today is with Petsmart. Sure its cool to be able to take your dog to a public venue. Petsmart carries just about everything for a variety of pets. With the addition of dog grooming it truly has become a one-stop shop.
When Petsmart opened its doors last year (I forget the actual date) I went with a handful of flyer’s ready to post them on a community board or see if there was some way they could support a local dog boarding business. I learned from the manager (and certainly not a friendly way) thats Petsmart doesn’t refer any type of businesses nor provide any community resources. I admit I was a bit taking back by this. The very least they could do is offer a community bulletin board.

Raised Bed Test Garden
Posted by tamara under: Go Green; The Farm; Home & Garden Services.
This is a video of my own raised beds and test garden. I have two gardens - one raised where I test different types of plants, soil, conditions and the beds. This small garden is very easy to put together and can grow MOUNTAINS of food. As you’ll learn in the video, I am in between seasons, ready to plant another crop and next month I’ll begin to plan my fall crop, however with raised beds and the right setup I can start melons in July and have a whole second crop.
Our new projects are exciting. Please check out our web site www.danvillegrowgreen.com lets get Danville growing organic and helping to fight hunger at the same time!

Summer is here and its busy out here at the farm! We are remodeling the Bow Wow Cabin to include two new private suites. One area is being created just for our little guys that can’t play with the big guys. We are also creating another area with a big fence yard and sun deck. We’re still small but we’re busy and we want to make sure that all of our guest are safe and happy.
We have purchased HAMMOCKS!!! The dogs love them. They keep them off the floor, cool and dry. Of course some dogs still prefer the floor. You can find these hammock for your own house at Amazon. Send me an email if you’d like the link.
If you’re planning on going away for Thanksgiving or Xmas you should go ahead and book early. We fill up quickly, however we do make extra space for our holiday guest and have special parties planned. While you spend turkey day with your family and friends we’ll be eating our own turkey, pumpkin dessert and sweet potatoes. Xmas everyone gets their own stocking so be sure to reserve early so no one gets left out!

The Traffic Jam
Posted by tamara under: Doggie Profiles.
Its not unusual for me to have a 1/2 dozen dogs running around my office and hanging out in my house. In the fenced area off my own personal deck I have a ramp. Its funny watching a bunch of dogs all trying to go up or down the same time. This video is starring Bear, Pablo, Roscoe, Stumpy and Alaska. Please excuse my grass. It was all seeded and looking great… lol- for a while anyhow. Hard to keep a lot of nice grass with so many crazy dogs!

Pet Adoptions
Posted by tamara under: Adoptions.
From time to time I get calls asking if we sell dogs. I don’t have anything against breeding and we board quite a few purebred show dogs, however I fully support adoptions. There are so many wonderful pets out there needing good homes. If you have the room in your family to love and care for a special pet, please consider adoptions.
I’ve added this area to post animals in need of a good home as well as people looking for pets. Please feel free to email any details and I will post it at the site. These are animals free to a good home.
Those of you looking for adoptions, please check shelters and human societies for dogs that are due to be put down. These guys need homes first. If you need help finding resources EMAIL me and I’ll make time to help you.
FYI- The Rottie is one of my dogs and the poodle is a guest here “Josh”.
