Cute Kittens Need Homes

1031091713b

These two cute little black kittens are part of a litter needing homes. Although they were born wild they are very friendly. We have others that have been neutered.  Kittens make excellent buddies for certain dogs. Dogs and cats can get a long great and be very playful. Its important to make sure your dog is not aggressive towards any animal.  If you or anyone you know is interested in these sweet babies send me an email info@dancingcreekfarm.com

Grow Goji Berry – Plants For Sale

We started up some goji berry plants in the greenhouse. Goji has had a lot of media as being a super food. Look it up on Google. Not only are they delicious but full of nutrients.

The plants are seedlings now and will sell right away. If you’d like a goji berry plant you better reserve you’re right away! I’m selling them wholesale to stores but making them available to my boarding customers.

Goji Berry plants will grow very easily here in Virginia once your plant is established. This is why we keep them warm in the greenhouse and suggest the first year you keep them indoors with plant lighting. Then in spring slowly take outside then plant in the ground. Goji can easilt withstand our winters and should grow great in our area. It normally takes a few years for goji berry plants to start fully producing.

Don’t pay 17.00 a pound for fruit when you can grow your own.

Email me to reserve your plant. I also have REAL curry leaf plant for sale.

Please do not leave comments as questions. If you are interested in getting info on plants please add your name to the newsletter here and it will email you for updates. Otherwise subscribe to our site www.bigchefherbs.com or www.farmgoddess.com if you only want updates on gardening and plants.

Holiday Boarding ~ Thanksgiving and Xmas

We are taking reservations for holiday boarding. Please be sure to book ahead and make sure we have room.  Right now we still have some spots left and thinking about opening up another area. If you have any small dogs and need more one on one care my mother and sister are also taking dogs into their homes for the holidays. This is total one on one care and we can only take small dogs for that.

Thanksgiving I have two turkeys and a case of sweet potatoes for everyone. If your pet is staying here over the Thanksgiving holiday be sure to let us know if he/she can’t have any of this.  We get a little runny but nothing serious. I mix a little with kibble and they just love it! They LOVE baked sweet potatoes.

Xmas we have room still.

get your reservations in soon!

Summer Boarding

Just a quick update… sorry I haven’t been posting much. I’m working a part time job at home.  It seems that some of you are taking one vacation this year instead of two. I completely understand! Still we have a few long term boarders this year and its important to get your reservations in early.

I’ll be posted video again soon. Updated my software and couldn’t get it to work. :(

Make sure your pets are up to date on shots and flea/tick treatment. They are really bad this year.

Loving a Dog

A dog has no use for fancy cars or big homes or designer clothes. Status symbols mean nothing to him. A water-logged stick will do just fine. A dog judges others not by their color or creed or class but by who they are inside. A dog doesn’t care if you are rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his. It is really quite that simple …”  From the movie, “Marley & Me”

I just watched the movie “Marley & Me”.  The story is based on the life of a dog & his owners. It’s a great story, although with a sad ending, especially for dog lovers. I warn you that the ending might make you cry. I hadn’t cried like that in years. Unfortunately I could relate to ending where he had to put Marley to sleep. In my 50 years and caring for countless animals, I never get use to their life ending. The difference for me is when I put a dog down that has had a happy and full life as opposed to an animal that had to suffer due to illness and end his life too early. The pain and suffer haunts me for years. I still get pain in my heart every time I look at a picture of dogs I had and lost.
