Mollie is a regular here and has been at the farm a bunch of times. She is a 5 year old mixed breed. She and her parents Ed & Laurie Tillett live in Danville. Mollie is social when she’s in the mood but most of the time she hangs out under Tamara’s desk when she working or following her around the house. Her favorite treat is hard boiled eggs but Mollie is always on a diet.
Poor Mollie…but when she comes to camp she gets to cheat a little.

Meet Mollie!
Meet Mia!
What a sweet little girl! Mia is a rescue adopted by mommy Kim. Its hard to image that this sweet little girl would have been put down in a matter of days.
Mia is a mixed breed 15 months old. She was really nervous at first but she settled in by the next day & loves to help Tamara do the laundry.
Princess Farley
Princess is an older girl with bad hips so she isn’t very social with other dogs. She prefers to hang out in Tamara’s bedroom where its nice cool and dark or in the office. Princess is also a therapy dog & very sweet. When she wants something from you she taps you with her nose on your leg.
McGregor & Patches Moyer
McGregor is a 9 year old golden retriever thats has really bad arthritis. Patches his 11 year old border collie/Shepard brother is SPUNKY for an older dog. Here you see Meredith my 11 year old helper, helping me walk the dogs. Their mommy’s name is De De and they live in Danville.
Max and Tinkerbell
Max is the grey standard poodle (4 years old) and Tinkerbell (21/2 ) is his sister and she is a Leopard Dog adopted by Max’s mommy Marcella. Max is a show dog and used for breeding. Max’s mommy left me a special brush and spray to brush Max, however Max did not want to stay still or Tamara and Tinkerbell did NOT want anyone messing with her brother. They both stayed for 10 days and had a great time!
Abby Camp
Abby was very shy when she came here. Her family was in the process of moving from Colorado to Virginia and they left her here for 3 weeks. This picture was her 2nd day so you can see she’s still unsure. After a few days hanging around Tamara, getting treats, hugs and kisses she came around and made herself right at home.
Molly Tillet
Molly is a regular here at the farm. She is a mixed breed about 7 and sweet as pie. Here she is laying by the fire place last winter during the holidays. Molly LOVES to eat. She will eat anything so we have a special diet for Molly so she can watch her girlie figure.
Meet Sadie ~ Queen Sadie
Sadie redefines personality. You’ve never met a dog that had more energy then Sadie. Normally when dog is high energy they make you nuts trying to keep up with them but Queen Sadie is still as dainty as they come. She is affectionate, well behaved and the sweetest little girl you’ll ever meet.
Sadie is about 1 ½ years old. She is an English Setter. She lives in
Meredith ~ Us Dirty Farm Girls
Living and working on a farm is dirty work. In fact from 7am until 6pm we’re just a group of dirty farm girls.
Meet Meredith my new helper. Mer is 11 years old and I guess she is my great niece? Well one thing for sure, she’s my little buddy and during the summer she cleans the dog rooms, takes dogs for walks & keeps the plants and trees in the greenhouse from burning up in the summer. She’s an excellent helper and she loves dogs too!

The Farm
Left to right : My nephew Shane walking Avery one of our boarders, front porch, the barn in winter, hens everywhere and the pig pen, the barn in summer.
Meet Cagney, Cue and Wonder Dog
Cagney is still a puppy (one year old now!) With TONS of energy and Cue is 4 years old. Both are Aussies that live with their mommy Tonya in Providence, NC. They were our very FIRST boarders.
The orange dog with them is Wonder Dog, a rescued dog I brought up from Florida. We call him Wonder Dog because we wondered what kind of dog he is. He smiles like a hyena! Wonder Dog is now 2 years old and the social director here at the farm. He shows everyon how to go down the ramp, where to poop and keeps everyone running & playing.
You can see the buckets of water we put out. These are changed a few times a day with fresh water and when it’s really hot we dump ice in it. They LOVE ice when its hot.
Meet Josh!
This is Josh Wellbank and he is a feisty 12 year old toy poodle that lives in Danville. Josh is one of our regular regulars and although he can handle his own with the big dogs, he prefers hanging out with Tamara in the office or watching the bog screen TV with her. Like Tamara, Josh has trouble seeing.
Meet Berkeley!
Berkeley is a 6 month old Basset/Beagle mix. He lives with his mommy and daddy, Chris and Eileen in Roanoke, Virginia. He’s still a puppy and fully if energy! He is still learning some manners. He’s a very sweet boy and as you can see from the pictures makes himself right at home. That is the big comfy chair at the Bow Wow Cabin watching Animal Planet. In the background in Bear, one of my dogs.
Citrus and Tropical Trees For Sale
I have a bunch of citrus and tropical fruit trees for sale that I brought up from Florida a few years ago. They are taking up way too much room in the greenhouse so I am looking to sell some. These can all be grown in containers and brought indoors when it gets too cold. I have lemons, limes, oranges and grapefruit. I also have mango, avacado and a few other tropicals. Email me using the contact form here and I’ll tell you what I have left. Sorry no shipping. Pick up only.
This fall I’ll have fruit trees such as apples, pears, cherries and more. Please add your name to our newsletter.
ASPCA OUTDOOR SAFETY TIPS: POISONOUS SURPRISES CAN COME IN SMALL PACKAGES. . .THAT BITE!
Pet parents venturing into the wilds this summer for camping trips, picnics and hikes, please take caution—deep woods can be full of snakes, spiders, scorpions and other venomous species. Meet Blaze
Blaze is a 2 year old Rat Terrier from Danville. She is awfully spoiled and follows Tamara everywhere she goes. She’s been a guest at the farm a number of times and makes herself right at home. She sleeps with Tamara and loves to get under the covers.
Blazes mommy, Darlene told us an interesting story about Blaze. One day her husband came home from work to let Blaze out to go potty. When he walked into the house Blaze went crazy barking and acting strangely. She kept going to the closet barking until he opened the door and saw the water heater smoking and starting to flame. Had he not gone there or had Blaze not brought this to his attention they would have lost everything they own including their beloved Blaze. Thank God!
Click the video player to see her. I have not figured out how to edit or rotate the camera yet but you can see what a fun personality she has.
